Cycle Training

Lack of confidence on the roads and fear of traffic is the number one obstacle stopping many people from making more of their journeys by bike. Just a few hours of professional training will dramatically increase confidence and reduce the risk of accidents. OCW has two members of staff trained under a new government initiative to provide high quality cycle training for anyone from complete beginners to regular cyclists wanting to tackle longer journeys.

Commuting by Bike

Many employers want to increase the number of their employees who cycle to work, for the health and environmental benefits but mainly because of financial savings. OCW is bringing together a range of practical services, including promotion, training, parking and on-site maintenance, into a one-stop tailor made package for employers looking to get people pedalling.

Bike Doctor

OCW operates a mobile repair workshop that visits different locations around the city on different days of the week (follow the link to find out where and when). You can also get in touch to request the Bike Doctor to visit a site near you.

Our work with 'diverse' social groups

Rennovating old bikes can be a very absorbing and satisfying activity, and many people recognise the benefits such work can bring to all kinds of people. OCW is currently doing some work with the County Youth Offending Team, and in the past has been a partner in a project working with the homeless, has provided work therapy placements and has done cycle maintenance courses for young people. We will also consider new opportunities for this kind of work.
