Latest News

Oxford Cycle Workshop has three main purposes;
- Recycling as many of Oxfordshire's abandoned bikes as possible.
- To empower people with the knowledge of how to do routine maintain and more complicated repairs on their bike.
- Doing everything we can to promote cycling in Oxford and beyond - particularly making cycling safe, easy and fun.
This website is much more than a shop promotion. We see it as an information 'hub' (excuse the pun) for cyclists in Oxfordshire and beyond. You can view interesting news items and longer articles about all aspects of cycling 'culture' (and the myriad of cycling subcultures !) You can find practical advice about all aspects of cycling, from maintaining your own bike, to commuting by bike for the first time, to joining a racing club. While also giving you the relevant links to websites that will keep you up to date things like Bike Polo, Critical Mass and other general craziness taking place on bikes in Oxford.

And of course you can find out more about Oxford Cycle Workshop, everything from basic info like opening times, to signing up for a mailing list that gives details of our membership scheme and all the other projects we run like cycle training.

Along side the second hand bikes we stock Oxford Cycle Workshop also strives to keep the accessories you’re looking for to complete your cycling picture. Trustworthy locks from Kryptonite, bright efficient LED lights from Cateye and beautiful waterproof panniers from Ortlieb, but also more unusual specialist brands like single speed and steel products from Surly, bold coloured road rims from Velocity USA and classy top tube pads from BiCi Concepts.

We're quite ambitious with this site, and there's a lot on here. We've tried to organize it as logically and simply as possible, but if you can't find what you're looking for, the site map has a full list of all the content.

We hope you find this site useful, interesting and fun - like bikes. If you have a suggestion, or you'd like to contribute an article, please feel free to contact us. Just make sure you spend more time riding your bike than staring at a computer screen!

If you fancy dropping to our shop at 39 Magdalen Road our opening times are:
9.30 until 6.00 Tuesday through to Friday
10.00 until 6.00 on Saturdays
