Repairs at the Oxford Cycle Workshop

We offer a full repair service, and because we're the only shop to hold a full stock of second-hand spares as well as new, we can often do the job cheaper than elsewhere in Oxford.

Every bike that is brought to us for repair, even just for a puncture, gets a full, free safety check - so we can let you know about any problems that may be developing before they become an expensive hassle instead of a minor tweak.

Had your bike vandalised?

You go for an evening out in town, and come back to find your bike kicked in - both wheels and the gear mech bent beyond repair. To sort it out, most bike shops will quote you around £65 for parts and £20 for labour - which is a perfectly fair price, but frustrating if you paid less than £100 for the bike in the first place! We can do the repair with second-hand wheels and other parts for more like £30 for parts and £20 for labour. It's still not nice to have to pay for someone's mindless crime, but at least it will make financial sense to keep the bike on the road!

Learn to fix your own bike

At the Oxford Cycle Workshop we want to encourage cycling by making it more safe and enjoyable for everyone, and one of the key ways to do this is to enable you the cyclist to fix most things by yourself. How many cyclists do you see (and hear) with squeaking chains, squealing brakes, flat tyres and an uncomfortable riding position? Maybe you're one of those people. Literally two minutes of basic maintenance per week could make those people's riding experience far more enjoyable.

You can come into the workshop any time you like to pump your tyres or get advice on positioning your saddle and handlebars. Plus, become a member and you will get a four lesson cycle maintenance course and be able to rent workshop space to do your own repairs with our tools.
